Follow-up Engine
AI that automatically writes and sends personalised emails to every lead after they complete the quiz.
Updated: April 2026
What is Follow-up Engine#
Follow-up Engine is Qwizoo's AI system that automatically generates and sends a series of personalised emails to every lead based on their quiz answers.
Instead of a generic broadcast — each lead receives an email written specifically for them: taking into account their budget, interests, questions and situation.
Personalisation
The AI analyses quiz answers and crafts a unique email for every lead — no templates.
Automatic Delays
Emails are sent at calculated intervals: immediately after the quiz, after 2 days, after 5 days, and so on.
Nurturing
Each email gently nudges the lead towards the next step — from awareness to booking a meeting or making a purchase.
Statistics
Track the number of emails sent, open rate and click rate in your quiz analytics.

AI Lead Scoring#
PremiumOn the Premium plan after every new lead the AI analyses the quiz answers and assigns a score:
- 🔥 HOT — ready to buy now.
- 🌟 WARM — interested, needs nurturing.
- ❄️ COLD — not ready, or weak fit.
The score appears on the lead card in the Leads section and helps prioritise follow-up work.
Once scoring is complete, Qwizoo automatically fires a lead.scored webhook event with the score in the payload. If you have Telegram notifications connected you will receive a second message with an emoji score. This lets you react to hot leads instantly — even before you open the dashboard. See Integrations → Webhook for details.
Setting Up Follow-up Engine#
Comfort+Go to Quizzes → select a quiz → Follow-up.
- 1Enable the Follow-up Engine using the toggle at the top of the page.
- 2Fill in the Business Context — a few sentences about your product, target audience and what you offer. This is the foundation for AI-generated personalised emails.
- 3Enter your website URL (optional). If filled in, emails from day 2 onwards will link the lead to your website instead of the quiz result page. The day-0 email always links to the personal result page.
- 4Enter your sender name. By default emails come from noreply@mail.qwizoo.com. On the Premium plan you can enable the "Custom email" toggle and choose an address from your verified domain.
- 5Optionally enter a Reply-to address — the email the lead will reach if they hit "Reply" in their email client. This lets you receive replies directly to your inbox rather than tonoreply@mail.qwizoo.com.
- 6Click "Generate emails" — the AI will automatically create copy for all emails in the sequence based on your context.
- 7Review and if needed edit each email (Premium).
- 8Save the settings. Now after every new lead the email sequence will start automatically.
Emails are generated based on the specific lead's quiz answers and your business context. Before going live, check the output with a test quiz run.
Business Context#
Email quality depends directly on how thoroughly you describe your business. We recommend including:
- What you sell or offer.
- Who your product is for.
- Key advantages and differentiators.
- The next step you want the lead to take.
- Tone of communication (formal, friendly, direct).
Example of a good business context:
Personal Result Page#
The Day 0 email always contains a link button to a personal result page — unique for each lead. On this page the AI displays a detailed analysis of the quiz answers, personal recommendations and an explanation of the result.
The link is protected by an HMAC token and is valid for 90 days from when the email was sent. Only the link owner can access the page — guessing someone else's token is not possible.
If you did not fill in the "Website URL" field — all emails in the sequence will also link to this page instead of a button to your site.
Email Sequence Structure#
Comfort — 3 emails
- Day 0 — Immediately after the quiz. Personalised recommendation based on answers + introduction to your product. CTA links to the personal result page.
- Day 2 — Useful content: benefits, case studies, answers to common questions. A gentle reminder. CTA links to your website (if URL is filled in) or the result page.
- Day 5 — Final call to action: invitation to a call, viewing, demo or a special offer.
Premium — up to 7 emails
- Days 0, 2, 5 — same as Comfort.
- Day 7 — A reminder with a different angle.
- Day 10 — Social proof: testimonials and customer case studies.
- Day 14 — Overcoming objections.
- Day 21 — Final email. An honest "last reminder" or a time-limited special offer.
On Premium you can disable individual emails in the sequence — for example if you feel 7 emails is too many for your audience.
Custom Sender Email#
PremiumBy default emails are sent from noreply@mail.qwizoo.com with your sender name. On the Premium plan you can configure sending from your own domain:
- 1Go to Settings → Email Domains. Enter your domain (e.g. mail.yourbrand.com) and save. Qwizoo will return DNS records (SPF, DKIM) that you need to add at your registrar.
- 2Add the DNS records and click "Verify". Verification usually takes from 5 minutes to a few hours.
- 3Go to the quiz → Follow-up → Sender. Enable the "Custom email" toggle — a field will appear for entering the prefix (e.g. team) and selecting a verified domain from the list. Save.
Once verified, all Follow-up emails will be sent from your domain — leads see your brand, not Qwizoo. This is one of three components of full white labelling.
If you don't need a custom email — simply leave the toggle off. Emails will come from noreply@mail.qwizoo.com with your sender name — this is perfectly fine and requires no DNS configuration.
Follow-up Statistics#
Overall follow-up sequence statistics are shown in the Follow-up block on the quiz analytics page:
- Total number of emails sent.
- Open rate.
- Click rate.
- Number of active sequences.
The detailed status of each email for a specific lead is available in Leads → lead card → "Follow-up" tab. Here you can see the status of every email in the sequence: queued / sent / opened / clicked / failed, as well as the send time and open time.
Incomplete Lead Re-engagement#
Comfort+When a visitor fills in their email in the lead form but does not complete the quiz — they are saved as an Incomplete lead. They don't count toward your monthly quota and don't trigger the main follow-up sequence.
With the Re-engagement email feature enabled, Qwizoo automatically sends two reminder emails to bring them back:
- After 1 hour — a friendly reminder: "You almost finished — your result is waiting."
- After 24 hours — a more urgent nudge: "Your result is still waiting — complete it today."
Both emails include a direct link back to the quiz and an unsubscribe option. If the visitor completes the quiz before the 24-hour email fires — the second email is automatically skipped.
To enable: go to quiz → Follow-up and turn on the "Re-engagement email" toggle in the Incomplete leads section. The mini-stats strip below the toggle shows total incomplete leads, conversion rate, and email open rate.
Conditional Follow-up Sequences#
PremiumPremium plan allows you to create multiple follow-up sequences and route leads into different sequences based on their AI score or quiz score.
How it works
- Default sequence — every quiz has one default sequence (3 emails on Comfort, 7 on Premium).
- Named sequences — create additional sequences with their own email content and schedule.
- Routing rules — conditions evaluated top-to-bottom; the first matching rule wins.
Rule conditions
aiScore = hot/warm/cold— route by AI lead scorescore >= N— route by total quiz score (numeric threshold)score <= N— route leads with low scores to a separate nurture sequence
Example setup: hot leads → "Book a call" sequence (3 urgent emails), warm leads → "Nurture" sequence (7 educational emails), cold leads → default sequence.
Setup
- Builder → Follow-up → Sequences tab
- Click "Add sequence" → give it a name and configure emails
- Click "Add rule" → select condition and target sequence
- Rules are evaluated in priority order — drag to reorder
